about me
I am a multidisciplinary Interior Designer with over 10 years' design experience. My professional journey started at a prominent international Interior Design firm based in Johannesburg; South Africa known as dsgn. After 3 years, I returned to my hometown, contributing to a local Architect's team, where I refined my technical skills. I then made the strategic decision to establish my own venture, focusing on freelance work in the area.
My recent projects have involved extensive architectural drawings, bespoke kitchen designs and 3D rendering for marketing purposes.
I consider myself a highly adaptable designer, consistently seeking and embracing new challenges. The fusion of my creativity and proficiency in various software applications has been instrumental in shaping my current position.
I have been specializing in 3D rendering which allows the end user or client to visualize the end product before construction has even started. From the average home owner, to property developers and business owners, this service is greatly beneficial. 3D renders are useful for marketing the end product before the construction has even commenced, or merely just to see the end from the beginning.
3D renders
This section showcases my expertise in creating realistic and visually stunning digital visuals. Using all the techniques I have learned over the years, this is achieved with industry-standard software, I transform concepts into tangible 3D renderings that captivate viewers and help clients visualize their designs.
With a strong focus on detail, lighting, materials, and composition, my renderings evoke emotions, tell stories, and provide practical design solutions. I prioritize effective communication and collaboration with clients to deliver high-quality work that exceeds expectations. Here are a few kitchen designs I worked on together with Norman Meyer of Meyer von Wielligh Kitchens. This process always started with some space planning, and a mood board of colours and finishes. When the client is happy with the overall look and feel, this would develop into a 3D model of the new kitchen concept. When the 3D model of the new kitchen is approved, I would draw up basic shop drawings with labels and dimensions.

The following sketches are computer rendered hand sketches that I worked from 2015 to 2018, under a prestigious design company in Johannesburg. Some of the more rough hand sketches I did when I started my freelance journey.
Here are some concept sketches from my final university thesis in 2013. My idea was to design a rejuvenation retreat, whereby one delves into a journey of the wholistic healing of the body, mind and soul. This retreat was proposed to be situated outside the hustle and bustle of the busy city life. The retreat would benefit people who are recovering from illness, who are overcoming battles regarding post rehabilitation and those who are suffering from disorders associated with stress and anxiety. The design encompassed theories from Zen design ideologies, which included Feng Shui, Yin & Yang, and thus was translated into the related design principles. This was achieved by the intentional use of colour, light and textures, which all contributed in some way to the healing process. The proposed space was filled with meandering pathways leading to different healing spaces. These included a restaurant/bar, an indoor/outdoor pool, meditation pods, a healing labyrinth, treatment rooms, a sauna and a yoga studio.
In this section, I express my passion for art, drawing, and painting as a means of creative expression. I discovered my love for art and creating at a young age and have since embarked on a lifelong journey of exploring and improvement. Through my diverse collection of artwork, I strive to evoke emotions, provoke thought, and spark conversations. Art has the power to inspire, heal, and unite people, I have always hoped that my art pieces make people happy.
